Shouldn’t 15 across be reportERs, not reports???
I went back and forth on that and ultimately opted for “reports” based on more contemporary usage that was familiar to me. That sense of the word has dictionary support — see Noun 3 here for example — but it is admittedly not ubiquitous.
Wow! Never heard it used that way….but I always expect your puzzles to be tough.
