A (5 3) / B (8) / C (8) / D (8)

But the forum is D.
When it’s ordered we’ll see
If the C of the B monks A most.

Rice Milk #18 answer: refrained / diner fare
areqf bhg, gbafherq, ebhaqrfg, hafbegrq….
Just curious — is there a reason/protocol for why A, B, C, D aren’t lettered in order of occurrence? I know in Enigma flats often the keywords are out of order to make the verse work, but I didn’t see the reasoning in this one….
1) Correct answers; nice job! 2) If I spent a bit more time I could have found an ending for line four that rhymed with “A” and scanned, which would have allowed the cue words to be in order. I thought about something like “Till it’s ordered I can’t say” but didn’t like that extra syllable. So I got lazy and just inelegantly reversed the order of the cue words. I am sure that you or another commenter can come up with perfect line four that rhymes with “A” and I’ll congratulate you/them while slapping myself on the forehead.
I wasn’t able to solve the previous Rice Milk; I got stuck on ABSTAINED and/or FOOD for the 4.
